NSM’s Immigration Reform committee, which consists of Indonesian and Afro-Caribbean members, started as a crisis response to immigrant needs early on in the pandemic. In 2021, the committee continued to work in solidarity to fight for comprehensive immigration reform. They led NSM’s strategy, made key decisions, and implemented a number of tactics. Through their participation in this committee members built strong personal relationships with each other and continue to collectively lead NSM’s efforts to push for immigration reform at the local, state, and national level.
